21 Feb Announcing the Founding President of Cristo Rey San Diego
Welcome to our new President, Bob Nascenzi!
Cristo Rey San Diego has reached an incredible milestone and has selected our Founding President. A national search began in August, seeking the right candidate to lead the school towards a successful opening in 2020. The Search Committee reviewed dozens of applications before deciding on the top candidate.
Cristo Rey San Diego is proud to announce our Founding President, Bob Nascenzi. Bob Nascenzi is a long-time San Diego resident and a visionary business leader. He brings a wealth of experience from his years as CEO of Claritas, National Decision Systems, Extrabux, nliven systems, and SupraMed. He is a parishioner and Minister of the Word at St. Therese of Carmel. Cristo Rey San Diego will benefit from his experience, energy and passion. Bob will begin the role of President in early January.
“I’m very excited and honored to be appointed as Founding President of Cristo Rey High School San Diego,” says Bob. “Offering a spiritual-based, college preparatory education to the under-served will empower students to be life-long contributors to our community.”
About the Cristo Rey Network®:
The Cristo Rey Network® is the only network of high schools in the country that integrate four years of rigorous college preparatory academics with four years of professional work experience through the Corporate Work Study Program. Comprised of 35 Catholic, college- and career-preparatory schools that today serve 12,012 students across 22 states and collectively claim 15,505 graduates, the Cristo Rey Network delivers a powerful and innovative approach to inner-city education that equips students from families of limited economic means with the knowledge, character, and skills to transform their lives. The impact is evident: Cristo Rey students are three times more likely to complete a bachelor’s degree by age 24, compared to the total U.S. low-income population.
