Message from the Principal

Welcome, and thank you for your interest in Cristo Rey San Diego High School. We are working hard in anticipation of our inaugural school year. In the fall 0f 2020, we will open with 125 bright and hard-working ninth graders. Applications to join our founding class will be available in October 2019!

Located in the Southcrest neighborhood of San Diego, CRSD will provide a unique high school experience combining a college preparatory curriculum with our Corporate Work Study Program. We believe this combination of rigorous academics and real-world work experience will prepare our students for postsecondary education and productive lives of service.
Sponsored by the Congregation of Jesus and Mary (commonly known as the Eudists) and rooted in the Catholic tradition, Cristo Rey San Diego serves students of all faith backgrounds. We begin each day with prayer as a school community. Integrated throughout the school day will be a variety of clubs, activities, advisory, and athletics to provide well-rounded care for the whole person. Our dedicated faculty and staff strive to ensure that our students are prepared to be successful in college and in life.
As part of the national Cristo Rey Network of schools, we will be one of 39 schools across the country dedicated to providing a high-quality, faith-based education for students and families of limited financial means. I invite you to come experience the difference of a Cristo Rey San Diego High School education.
God’s Blessings,
Michael Derrick
Founding Principal
